Under the exceptional leadership of Laudium CPF Chairperson Mr. Shaheen Wahab and Ward 61 Councillor Mr. Naeem Patel, a high-impact multi-agency law enforcement operation was launched earlier today in Laudium and surrounding areas.
The operation—initiated at 14:00 and led by the Laudium SAPS Vispol Commander—was conducted in partnership with Laudium SAPS, TMPD, the Department of Home Affairs, Laudium CPF Members and over 30 Patrollers and other law enforcement agencies.
Targeted hotspot areas included Itereleng, White Blocks, CBD and the vicinity of the reservoir near 19th Avenue and Cuprene Street, among others across Laudium and its borders.
In Itereleng, law enforcement executed a series of raids, resulting in the confiscation of illegal gambling machines and a large quantity of illicit alcohol—a strong statement against criminal activities in the area.
In White Blocks, a drug dealer was arrested in possession of a high volume of Mandrax and other illegal narcotics, thanks to swift and coordinated police action. And one other individual in possession of drugs. Also certain houses were raided for non compliance of municipal by laws.
Additionally, in the area behind the reservoir, several undocumented foreign nationals were apprehended with the support of Home Affairs personnel.
Also one individual was arrested for operating illegal workshop on municipal land in Bengal street and the illegal business was closed down.
This station operation is a major success—a testament to the power of collaboration and community-focused policing. It will continue into the late hours of the night, with further operations planned in various identified hotspots across Laudium and its surrounding areas.
Mr. Shaheen Wahab has once again demonstrated firm, hands-on leadership in steering the CPF and community partners through another milestone achievement. Councillor Naeem Patel remains a pillar of support, actively engaging on the ground and reinforcing CPF efforts to keep Laudium safe.
