About Laudium Community Policing Forum
Working together with the community to create a safer Laudium through partnership, accountability, and proactive crime prevention.
What is the Laudium CPF?
The Community Policing Forum (CPF) is a partnership between the community and the South African Police Service (SAPS) to improve local safety and security.
The Laudium Community Policing Forum (CPF) is a statutory body established under Section 18(1)(a) of the South African Police Service Act (Act 68 of 1995). It provides a platform for cooperation between the community and the SAPS to combat crime effectively.
We are a volunteer-based structure, uniting residents from diverse backgrounds who work together with law enforcement to tackle local safety issues. Our CPF operates in collaboration with the Gauteng Department of Community Safety and the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD).
Formed in 2003, the Laudium CPF has become one of the most active policing structures in Gauteng — with over 100 volunteers working across 3 active sectors in the community.
CPF Structure
The Laudium CPF operates through a well-defined structure to ensure effective community policing.
Executive Committee
The elected leadership body consisting of Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and additional members who oversee CPF operations.
Meets monthly with SAPS station management to address policing concerns.
Sector Teams
Laudium is divided into 3 geographical sectors, each with a dedicated team of volunteers who monitor their area and report issues.
Sector teams conduct regular patrols and community engagements.
Sub-Committees
Specialized teams focusing on key areas: Patrols, Youth Programs, Victim Support, Crime Prevention, and Community Outreach.
Each sub-committee has a coordinator who reports to the Executive.

Our Guiding Principles
The Laudium CPF operates according to these core principles:
Partnership: We believe effective policing requires collaboration between law enforcement and the community. The CPF serves as the bridge between SAPS and Laudium residents.
Accountability: We hold both the police and community members accountable for their roles in maintaining safety. The CPF monitors police conduct while encouraging residents to report crimes and suspicious activities.
Transparency: All CPF operations and decisions are made openly, with minutes of meetings publicly available. Financial reports are audited annually.
Inclusivity: The CPF represents all sectors of Laudium’s diverse community. Our leadership includes representatives from different religious, cultural, and business groups.
Proactive Approach: We focus on preventing crime before it occurs through education, environmental design, and early intervention programs rather than just reacting to incidents.
Professionalism: All CPF members adhere to a code of conduct and receive regular training to perform their duties effectively and ethically.
